Learning – Woman in the Maple

A conversation with my sister yesterday coupled with an another blogger’s post today caused me to reflect on the photographic process.  In photography, just like all of life, there are moments when everything comes together and you come away with something wonderful.  This image is one of those.  It was the first time I really was playing with a shallow depth of field, taking pictures of a small maple tree outside my door.  Many pictures.  Over 15oo in the course of two days.  Which resulted in 3 images worth the time, but a lifetime of knowledge gained from the process.  The first lesson was simply, go and do.  Try it and see what happens.  You never know unless you try.  I’m talking to myself here!  Woman in the Maple
